The Gospel
Most likely, we would all agree that Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose again. The question is why?  The Scripture teaches us that Jesus committed no sin. He was not guilty of even one wrong thought. Yet He would go to a cross to suffer and die as a criminal. There was more taking place on that cross than most might think. The Bible says in Isaiah 53 that “His soul was made an offering for sin.” Just as a perfect Lamb in the Old Testament would be slaughtered for the sins of Israel, God was going to slaughter His own Son.  On that cross Jesus would cry “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” For the first time Jesus was separated from the Father, not for His own sin but ours. Again, we see in 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. On the cross Christ was taking your place. John the Baptist said of Jesus, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.”  God chose to send His Son to die in your place, He poured out His wrath upon Jesus, and He suffered for you.  Have you ever told a lie, stolen even one thing, or had a lustful thought? Of course, we all have. You have violated God’s perfect standard, and we deserve His wrath. But through Christ you can escape the eternal flames of Hell.  Please read the Bible and believe the scripture that says: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us”. Seek the Lord Jesus Christ alone to pardon your sin. He is a wonderful Saviour.
