1. Our Families
We believe that God made the family as the most important unit of society. We want to see families restored and grow spiritually, in a time when many seem to be falling apart.
  2. Our City
God has given us a burden for our city. Even though the whole world needs to be reached with the Gospel, God has primarily tasked us with ministering to Poplar Bluff.
  3. Our World
Our ministry is not limited our ministry to our family and neighbors. God has given us a burden to see the world reached with the message of through passionate missionary work.
Who we are:
For more than 25 years Faith Baptist Church has defended the truth of God's Word. Today more than ever we are striving to impact our community and the world with the life changing message of Jesus Christ. In this present hour, our Faith and Families are under attack from every corner of society. We are committed to holding the line and helping families stay together and stand strong by reinforcing scriptural truths that still work today.
Meet the Pastor:
Pastor Stahlman became serious about his walk with Christ at the age of 17. After surrendering to preach the gospel he attended a local church Bible institute at Harvest Baptist Church in Fort Dodge, IA, where he earned a four year degree in ministry. While training for the ministry he was blessed with the opportunity to court and later marry a Godly young lady. Bro. Matt and Mrs. Cathy were married on May 1st, 1998. After graduating from the Bible institute the Stahlmans served in full time ministry at Harvest Baptist Church, until they surrendered to the foreign mission field. After a year long battle with malaria they returned home from Africa in late 2001. Although their service in Africa was short it has been the basis for their love for missions which they still have today. Today more than a decade after their return God is still being glorified through the two churches that were established during their time in Malawi. Their experience of hardship on the foreign field gave them a great burden to prepare young men and women who were committed to the third world mission field. Beginning in 2006 a series of training camps and missions trips have helped dozens of future missionaries better understand the meaning of third world missions. In June of 2012 Faith Baptist church extended a call to Bro. Matt to serve as their pastor. Their vision is to see a strong church in Poplar Bluff that will not only reach our own community but continue the passion for world evangelism and missionary preparation that will always be a great part of their ministry.

Our Missions Ministries

The Pioneer Project
Missionary Training Camp
Faith Baptist is the home of the Pioneer project. Each year we endeavor to research and visit a country that has little or no history of Christian evangelism. These countries are closed to traditional missionary work and need creative evangelistic strategies implemented in order to reach their people. Our reports from these efforts are available for free in order to encourage likeminded churches to stretch their own ministries to these forgotten places.

Missionary training is a primary focus at Faith Baptist. The ministry concept was built upon our own pastor's experience as a missionary to the people of Malawi, Africa. Hardships in Malawi eventually led to their family returning home from the mission field. Under our pastor's leadership we have created a valuable ministry for independent Baptist Churches and Missionaries.  Our team consists of veteran missionaries, military veterans, and medical personnel, who have years of experience traveling and living in the third world.

The Gospel:
The Gospel means "Good News." It is story of Christ's birth, life, death, and resurection. It is not only the theme of the Bible, but it is also the most important thing a person can ever hear.
